Just done my car and it was way off the mark,I paid £350 two years ago for mine so it must be scrap value by now but not according to WhatCar

http://www.whatcar.com/valuations/result?makeId=2080&modelId=2082&editionId=2173&yearId=26&mileage=115000

Who would ever pay that much for my car?

Oh yes nobody  ;D

It Depends how regularly they update their values with the current CAP or Glass's Guide. As a 'Guide' Through it seems reasonable :y

Book prices are exactly that....prices in a book.......

I think in reality the actual sale price of a car will always be on the low side of book value.

Always amazes me how when it comes to part ex, a dealer will always say the "Book" is irrelevant yet always price their own vehicles way over "book" to sell.....

They shouldnt but they take in to account preperation costs. So say a PDI, Service, Valet and the odd scuff, dent or mechanical repair may be £300 quids worth. What they really want is a fully prepered car ready for sale no higher than trade book.
