But it's a pity he reset the trip computer when in the cruise ;)

My Omega could do that sort of economy if I did the same ::)

It's mine, but before that, a very respectable 46 MPG over 96 miles, I shall do a longer average tomorrow  :)

I thought it might be ::)

It was quite a respectable average though ;) ;)

Actually, emissions wise, most LPG converted cars are probably better for the environment than any Hybrid/Electric cars ::)

I should also say that 46 MPG was an average with a 120 MPH burst with an MX-5 on that racetrack, but without using cruise control I got 3 MPG more than what I did before on the same run  :o

You will though... Cruise control does everything it can to maintain the set speed so applies full throttle if it thinks it needs it ::) ::)

Oh yeah I understand all that, but 3 MPG, that's a huge saving  :o

Not on the modern DBW cars it wont.....

The Mum bus sees a continuous average of 48mpg (thats over 9K miles of very varied driving) and on a run returns 54mpg.

I shoudl add that my old 2.5 V6 manual was returning 38mpg combined (i.e. door to door so more realistic than the above) on my old daily commute with some careful driving.

You mean you don't drive around with a 'smug' hat on, safe in the knowledge that you're saving the planet the rest of us are killing? ;)

Lol, you mean knowing that you have already inflicted devistation on the planet during its construction way beyond that which 99% of cars will ever do.  ;D ;D
