at 3 years old or so there is also a history of cooling system problems/ overheating - cannot remember exactly but will look up as I assisted with one on a 2006 S a couple of months ago.

A far cry from my full race 1293cc Cooper S of the late 60's  :o :o :o

I thought I knew you, you are my twin brother! ;D ;D

Did you ever have a 970 in any form out of interest?

hey bro - yep bought a 970S back in the early 70s for the tyres to replace the nackered ones on my wifes 850 - the S was rotton & I didn't realise it was a 970S till I drove it home - went like stink but you could put your hands through bodywork around back window - underneath was worse. Paid £10 so looked no further than the tyres.
Ended up fitting the new tyres to wifes Mini plus engine and box, front discs etc etc.  Sold her bits at a profit!!

Wonder where it is now - also wonder where the X wife is too  ;D ;D ;)

Reading up on these, this having had the John Cooper Works pack put on, has 210 BHP as opposed to the 170 a standard one has. Another good point :)

The increase in power is due to the super charger that will need checking

The Chrysler Supercharged engine is pretty crap and drinks like George Best on an Bender, the later Pug Turbo engine is so much better

In fairness Mark I think he has cut back quite a lot lately.....
