on wednesday i got the trusty ramps out and decided to replaced the old blowing exhaust. i bought an eternal system (backbox and 2 centres) for £130 from ebay.
the system was easy to fit, lined up well and is very sturdy also came with all the clamps and rubbers. the only problem was one of the cat bolts needed to be drilled out but apart from that im well pleased with the job

Yup, have one on mine. Slightly noisier than old style genuine OE, on a par, imho, with new style genuine OEM.

as the ramps wern't high enough i had to take the car to a small local garage to get it drilled out. while there a young un took the job on but only had the 8mm drill bit in his kit so i went to the local car shop and bought a 3 and 5 for the job (which i gave him) after filling him in on the way to drill out a seized bolt we finally were successful and i awaited the bill.
£40 i was asked for but pointed out that we needed my tools and knowledge for the job and settled on £15- basically the use of the ramp for 15 mins !!!!

I'd to do the same as you.
It defies belief the way GM threaded the bit of exhaust that you're very likely to keep, rather than thread the bit you're going to throw away.

Did mine in Feb but both the bolts snapped on mine, took me ages to drill them out, had to go to the shop to replace the drills I had snapped.
