Fiesta Gear Change
« on: 09 March 2011, 22:39:14 »

Evening all,

Just went out in the wifes 1.3 Fiesta (don't laugh) and on the way back had gear selector problems. Had difficulty selecting 1st and 2nd-had to really push the gearlever to the left and then pull it to the right for 3rd etc. Previously it was an excellent gearchange.

Obviously selector problems but any ideas would be appreciated (rather than buy a box of matches).

Cheers

Can't remember if these have a cable or a linkage, but that would be my guess. Cable knackered or come loose.

Cheers all,

The change was always great, I suspect the linkage-it's rod operated-feels like the spring that moves it from1/2 to 3/4 is kaput, it's ok from 5 back across.
