Starting problem
« on: 16 March 2011, 20:22:50 »

Hi all
Has anyone got any idea why the following happens.....
I have a P reg Renault Laguna Estate Auto... maybe old but in tip top nick and low mileage, except....it won't start on the key. :(
There is a white wire from ignition (i think) that we have put a connector in, and when you touch a wire from it to the battery, it starts first time, never fails.
So I bought a start button, ran a wire from the connector to the button, and a wire from the battery to the button....
bingo....starts straight away. :y
But after a few times it becomes intermittent, sometimes starting, sometimes dead as a dodo.
Strange thing....connect a wire from white wire connector to battery again and away it goes. :o

Any ideas....tried two different starter buttons :y

could be the box on the back of the ing switch or sum dodgy wireing somewhere.the wireing on frog cars was never up to much.paul
