When fitting your LPG tanks...
« on: 30 March 2011, 13:47:48 »

... do you get ALL of the bolts to go through the chassis members?

Looking at the set up of mine, only 2 will pass through the members, and 2 would have to go through boot floor only.

Guessing the latter is not ideal  :-/

Me thinks some modification of my frame (or indeed, a new frame), is on the cards.

I would feel a million times better if all went through the chassis...

The boot floor isn't any less strong, as long as the required spreader plates are used. In fact, you can tighten the bolts fully without worrying about crushing the box section.

With the frames for the 80L tanks we have used, 2 pre-drilled holes go through the box sections and 2 line up with the floor but either side of the diff and in an area that's not easy to get to. Hence, we've drilled another 2 holes at the sides of the frame to go through the box sections.

With a 90l, should I have 6 holes, instead of 4?
