Not Omega, but audio help required (DaveDND maybe)
« on: 26 March 2011, 17:03:45 »

My friends 206 is to be up for sale soon, so the original Cassette radio is back in.

The car is a GLX so has a CD changer in the boot.

But to make the car a bit more modern and deseriable i got a PU-2294A standard 206 CD player. Its all fitted and plugged in, but it wont control the CD Changer in the boot, or operate with the steering control stalk. I was under the impression it should be compatible??

Its deffo plugged in fine and good.

Here are some pics.

This is the back of the two units. Top is the Original tape radio, below is the CD player

This is the original tape player plugged back into check that the CDC does work.  (audio plug left out as i was just interested in seeing it recognise the CDC). The dash display shows the CDC playing from disk 4.

Im guessing the CDC is the blue plug, as its the only one with wires in.

i am under the impression that the unit you are are using is not compatible in that car, but i would have thought that leaving the cdc in the boot unplugged would be ok and enable you to use the h/u cd
i will check this when my daughter gets home as she has a 206  :y

CD changer may be more desirable than a head unit

Yep cheers guys. It appears there is a different changer for the CD head unit, even though all the plugs are the same. Doh! Oh well, it will get sold with both of them, who ever buys it can have the changer or CD head unit.
