LPG bits for the Elite
« on: 30 March 2011, 11:47:33 »

Here is the evaporator

Looking again, would I be right in saying that the grey pipes are coolant (does it have an IN and an OUT, or does it not matter), the larger brass pipes are LPG out (1 per bank?), and the top brass is LPG in (or is that the vac?).

It came with what looks like a filter

These is the valve set.

I guess one on the right is the filler (as it has a hole in it ;D, one on left is gauge/sensor (no holes in it ;D), and top is the solenoid? If its 4 hole. what blocks the 4th hole?

Can't see the gas connections being plastic so I'd say the plastic ones are for coolant. The small brass hose barb will be vacuum reference. Can't see the liquid inlet from here.

Yep, that will connect between the fuel line and the vapouriser. Is there a solenoid on that too? Or is it built into the vapouriser?

There should be a pressure relief valve in the other hole. That's in the other plastic bag next to the solenoid. (with a red bung in it)

You should have a right-angled union on the filler to take you out of the side of the valve box, then an adaptor to go into polyflex.

Kevin

EDIT: I can see the (blue) solenoid connector on the top of the vapouriser so I guess the liquid goes in near that somewhere.

Found a threaded hole on one side of vapouriser, can see solenoid through it, so that'll be the inlet for LPG. Doh ;D

The right angle piece in the bag with the suspected pressure releif piece has right size thread to go into filler.  Does the pressure relief have a pipe to take gas out of car, or is that just vented into gas box?

It just vents into the box, and is then taken out of the car by the ducting. :y

I had that Vap, on my old 2.5

It always cut out at 6000 rpm, even at the highest pressure. Hopefully your 4 hole tank will help...

Thats not a good sign.  Maybe this one has a larger capacity?

Hmmm, maybe not. In the dim and distant past when we did the MV6, I seem to recall Teilo not providing long enough frame mounting bolts. Don't suppose he would have remembered longer ones this time ;D

Can anyone remember how long they need to be?

I've got a big bag of bolts I used for my frame mounting, yours if you need  :y

I would just get some M10?(IIRC) threaded rod and a load of nyloc nuts and washers and cut to length.

My 4 hole tank didn't come with bolts at all, nor spreader plates. I think I got both from the local B&Q whorehouse.

Would I be better just getting some longer bolts?  Does it have to be stainless, or anything like that?

Tunnie, given that they are nylock nuts, not sure I would have bothered with antishake washer, allowing the nylock to grip more...
