I have used a pair of pliers before now Del.

Also, never tried it myself, but would a magnet help? :-/ :-/

Won't work on an electrically driven door locking system. This was allegedly used on cars that used a vacuum to lock & unlock doors (VW?)  ;)

I've used the old unravelled coat-hanger through the door-rubber trick to lift the button up on many occasions, can't remember if 97 corsas have deadlocks though???

Unravelled coat-hanger should work then, make a kind of hook at one end, then pull gently at the top l/hand corner of the drivers door to take a bit of tension off the seal whilst person 2 threads the wire c/hanger through, bit of skill/luck involved to hook it around the button, one quick pull up - hey-presto!!! Done it several times when my old man locked his keys in.

don't know about corsas but whenever i've seen aa recover locked in keys it's usually a flat blade towards the lock between the window and seal to knock the lock around if that makes any sense i'm geussing it shouldn't be too hard on a "97" corsa or maybe a coathanger with a hook on it and try and pull up (if it has a button) the button from the outside if i remember rightly they are on a button and not built into the door release?

I hate doing lockouts, but usually find a wedge and airbag in the top of the door shut and a long rod to try and work the door handle is the first thing to try. Vauxhall lock buttons are impossible to pull up from outside the car, and if it's deadlocked you won't get in.
Winding down a manual window is also possible.
Failing that, an automotive locksmith will usually cut a key to get in, quickly with no damage, for less than replacing a window. Plus it gives you the spare key you should have had in the first place!

Only works on VAG vehicles with, as stated, air driven C/L systems ;) ;)

Del, if you're still struggling, PM me and I'll have a look in the manual for my lock out kit ;) :y
