I would say your best bet would be to join AutoBahnStormers http://www.autobahnstormers.org/ and ask them, as the Lotus Carlton is not really a car we specialise in, being an Omega forum.

In any case, more information would be required for anyone to give any idea of value. Age, condition, number of owners, service and maintenance history and photos, at the bare minimum, would be required.

well actually, it could be a Lotus Omega, and we are the Omega Owners Forum.

Lotus Carlton - £10,000 to £18,000 if in road-worthy condition

Lotus Omega - £7500 to £15,000 in same condition, but harder to insure as it's left-hand drive

But yes, ABS is the place

Is that what they call a "faux pas" Kevin.......surely we ALL know the Lotus Carlton is the UK name for the Lotus Omega in Europe???

And a man of your calibre to not know such basic facts.....??

your only real bet is to get an agreed value by a reputable garage and then look at the classic/performace insurance brokers. that way you wont get any nasty surprises if anything happens.

I struggled to get insurance on my lotus carlton some years back and i needed agreed valuation proof of secure premisis for overnites at home plus a tracking device and thatam catorgoy 1 alarm/immobliser and even then it wasnt cheap.
