I am off to Heathrow for a seminar next week, two days so will need to fill up on the route as not going near my local 2.


Where is good and affordable?

There is one just South of the M4 at junction 11 - three mile cross.

Haven't been there for a few months but the price is normally bearable - in comparison to a motorway services, at least.

Guessing you'll be heading down the M5/A417/A419 to Swindon. There is one I've used in Gloucester that's not too far off that track and also another at a services on the 419 probably around Cricklade way. Again, not done so for a couple of months but the price at both was not super cheap yet not a motorway services reach for the vaseline job.

http://www.filllpg.co.uk seems to be reasonably accurate, albeit a very slow, clunky site :y

Reading services advertise lpg, but it's massively over priced and always out of stock ime.

The one Kev mentions in spencers wood is the one I use. Not sure if they still do the accumulator card, helps further on price.  :y

The one I was using was 79.9, but if you remember we had a thread about LPG running costs a while ago and you were amazed how high my costs per mile were.
This got me thinking, and I suspected the pump was delivering less than it said it was. So I changed to another (albeit more expensive) garage and my costs seem to have dropped significanltly. I am putting in less litres for a given amount of miles, according to this pump, so my suspicions about the previous pump have been (unscientifically) confirmed. ;)

LPG pumps, unlike Petrol, are not covered under the weights and measures >:( >:(

Which reminds me Kevin. The pump which I suspect of being innaccurate, on more than one occasion filled my 60 litre tank with 60 litres of gas, despite the fact that In hadnt runout  when I arrived at the pump.
TB filled up there (iirc) when he/gixer/lazytinker went dogging during the Essex meet. I wonder if he noticed anything amiss. :-/

Iirc Tb wasn't sure of the current level or the full fill level as he was still fiddling with tank position and fuel gauge set up. But think he mentioned it seemed to fill excessively. Gauge on the tank jumped right at the end of the fill.

But I've used that place several times and never noticed anything amiss :-/ :-/ Although I can't remember the last time I used that station ::)
