have you checked the anti roll bar drop links as these can make a knocking noise

What are the inner edges of your tyres like?

When mine have worn the car vibrates and has a knocking noise, replace the tyres and it all goes away

Inner shoulder wear is a camber problem

Dead right,  I put wishbones on mine a wee while ago, put new P7's on too...  Didn't get the Optiflex check done (4 wheel / body alignment)  wrecked my P7's in 4k...  sick as a pig now!!!!  It's in for Opti' in the morning at VX in Stoke  £60 + vat to check and £30 / hr +vat for adjustment....
