Signums not very popular
« on: 30 July 2011, 10:14:04 »

Been advertising an 03 for a bit with no interest whatsoever, seems they are less popular than bloody omegas, despite dropping the price below anything else on the market!

I quite like it as it's a bit more distinctive than mondeos and vectras but i'm far too attached to the LPG mig to keep it.

Not fishing but FFS you can't give big cars away at the minute. Will definately be sticking to smaller cars once this buggers gone. Anyone managed to move bigger stuff lately?

wait some time.. every car has a buyer at the correct price ..

and stay away from dead buyers (we use this word in our language for those who pay nearly nothing)

signum is a bit of an oddball now, most buying a vectra or car that value want something totaly practicle so will just buy a vectra or mondeo. i noticed they hang around longer then most.

I Personally like signums, and if anything is bigger and more practical than a vectra, but its not everyones cuppa tea, which knocks it  back of the line. Would advise leave it advertised on free sites, thats if you could do with the car sitting on the drive and see how it goes... :y

I have no experience of the sigmun, but looking around they do seem cheap, almost as cheap as a Mig, so perhaps worth a further look...... :-/ :-/

More than happy with ours apart from two dual mass flywheels replaced under warranty within first 45000 miles. It is a hatchback on Vectra estate chassis.

Fantastic car for us - but each to his own.

Just thinking about doing something with Warranty Direct now that we are going into 5th year with it.

If that flywheel goes again and takes out clutch you are looking at big money.

with the Signum's the diesel is very economical and those models do not seem to hang around. Petrol's though I agree hard to shift at high mileage. In 2003 there were something like 200,000 Vectras sold and only about 2300 Signums so a lot of people will be concerned at the "unknown quantity".

Local dealer is dropping Vectra diesel estate prices down to £6000 now for 50000 milers and that is top price off bay - and that is for 2008 models!!

Signums got slated on Top Gear for only having seating for 4 people - it is a bit impractical for a car of its size - puts it in a niche market category I suppose.

I can remember when I had my Vectra C I was offered a direct swap, no extra money, for one a year younger with 20k fewer miles :o

But that was when they couldn't give them away!

Signum was very popular tonight as I had to move a large single bed to my sons place. Base units are 40in by 42 in x 14in. Only two trips - how many hatchbacks can do that I wonder?

In my old Carlton Estate I was able to get a standard bed in in one hit.

I find this strange - I personally really like these and will be looking for one when I'm done with my estate.  They're a bit quirky but like the Omega you get a hell of a lot for the money.
