Small vehicle fire at work.
« on: 04 August 2011, 19:52:33 »

I work at a Volvo dealer in Stoke. A Valeter was driving a car when he noticed smoke coming out the air vents and a very strong acidic burning smell and i mean very strong. By the time he got the mechanics smoke started pouring out the top of the bonnet with flickers of flames. From what i know there was a fault with the alarm. Battery was quickly disconnected and flames put out but it continues to smolder for a few minutes after. Managed to get a quick video after the event with last of the smoke filling the car. Sounds similar to the powersounder failures the omega have. Also it somehow set the windscreen washers off in the process  ;D.

Car was a 59 plate Volvo V50 with 21K miles.
