Was the coilpack you fitted a month ago the genuine article?

Got it from Vauxcentre, invoice quotes  'Vauxhall Omega 2.2 Petrol Coil Pack 9195819 New' £61.50

So presumable.... :-/ :-/ :-/

If its got Intermotor stamped anywhere on it be afraid, very afraid,I have had lots of issues with there stuff in the past to the point where I will not use it anymore :(

Not sure without looking, it does worry me as, assuming the plug is OK and it was 3 weeks ago, it can only be the coil pack....can't it?

Supposed to be under guarantee...... :-/ :-/

Anyone know how much a Vx dealer charges for one? do not have TC sadly..... ::) ::)

this one made by Bosch is around 85 quid     http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230637771290#ht_500wt_922

Same place same part number, might give them a ring in the morning..... :)

I've just went through this on my 2.0 XEV.
Very bad miss when under load . I found No1 plug lead was breaking down . Changed and it was fine for a week or two then suddenly lumpy idle , worrying light rattle and very fast to get to fan trip temp. Found EGR valve seized open thus diluting the fresh mixture and causing it to run lean. Blanked off and all is well again.

Thanks for the advice but the 2.2 does not have plug leads, looks like a faulty coil pack, will have a look tomorrow..... :)

I got a spare 2.2 coil pack you can try, if you are in the area.

I would have a word with AndyC. I'm sure he'd pop one in the post at TC prices plus postage and you know it's genuine then.

But trying a known good one first just to confirm would be handy.

Why? Because of a coil PAC... Ask Ken nicely to pop his in the post?
Far a deposit maybe.

Also check your wind screen seal is still attached on the bottom edge. Keeps water out of the engine bay.

.. and if the new one is faulty, get a refund. If cr@p parts don't cause hassle for suppliers, they'll keep selling them for others. ;)

Yes, no problem, PM me your address.
I previously had a missfire which was due to the rubber boots breaking down and splitting. There is a replacement boot kit available from Vx for not a lot.

Thanks Ken, but no need... :) And all seems well with the window seal, no signs of water or oil in the plug holes.

I have spoken with Vauxcentre today, where I bought a new coil pack from on 19th July this year.

They were most helpful, it does seem that I bought an 'after market' one, though they say they have not had any problems with them.

So, I have ordered a new Bosch coil pack from them and I have to send the faulty one back for a full refund, can't say better than that....... :y :y

I feel confident enough to trust them, I did mention OOF ;) ;)

Took it off today and 2,3&4 plug lead bits, or whatever you call them, all look like new, No 1 looks a pale grey colour and looks old, the fault code said No 1 misfire, so fits with it breaking down.

Vauxcentre said that they sell loads of these, obviously a common problem, I wonder if it is something to be carried as a spare, after all they only take 5 minutes or so to change.... :-/ :-/ :-/

Vauxcentre Fleabay adverts say at the bottom Vx part number given for reference only, which I take to mean they are selling an aftermarket part, which is why I went to my local Vx stealer for replacement crankshaft sensor a few weeks ago.

Well, 4 new Bosch 4 point plugs and a new Bosch coil pack fitted, started and running nice smooth.....Not been out in it, will use my Mums car for work again tomorrow and take the car for a test drive tomorrow evening.......... :y

Will send the failed coil pack back to Vauxcentre for a refund........ :)

As for the car, I feel that it's days are numbered, have lost faith in it's reliability....... :-/ :-/ :-/

I never did get a drive in one at the Lakes :'( :'(
It may be an option, but as I use the car for work the fuel consumption is a problem...... :(

One option would be to get a little run around for work and a nice big V6 for the weekends..... :y

And yes, I know, the other option would be lpg... :D :D
