Subaru Impreza
« on: 10 September 2011, 12:51:24 »

Been offered one, the Guys trading in for a cheaper run around, so I can get it for the dealer trade in value, which is not a lot to be honest.

Its a 51 plate, silver, 137k, FSH, never been chipped or modded, bog standard, its been driven hard but never boy raced.

Never owned one, so know nothing about these, are they sellable, any tips, and what to look out for.?

Thanks Chris.

your bank balances will be upset if you use them heavily..

talking for turbo models ;I never see someone who  drives like a miss daisy.. parts are expensive, fuel consumption heavy (you will miss omega ;D)

and not easy to sell unless you ask for really low prices.. but once you drive it , you will like it.. :P

Dont intend to lose the Mig (or should I say Mig's) Cem, thinking more like buy, play, sell it.

I dont want to give the amount away, but were not talking a lot of money here.

I like anything quick, but Ive still got my RWD Cossie stashed away somewhere to play with.

 ;)

my mate bought a cheap one [1100pounds] and its standard and ive been out in it a couple of times.now hes a sensible guy but he says the car just makes you drive it hard/fast.its not cheap to run and tyres dont last very long.but its a car you drive and he says its always makes you grin
but if its the right money buy it enjoy it then a few months later sell it dont think you loose on it
but  i think the engine sounds horrible but lots of people like the noise of them

Bullet proof mechanicals afaik, a real drivers car, corners like you wouldnt believe.Older ones dont hold there value that well afaik, possibly because people are nervous of buying them after a lot of years of hard driving.Quick in a straight line, and can be made to go ludicrously fast.

They certainly put a smile on your face from the minute you get in to the second you get out  ;)
The Classic shape is the more desirable shape according to the guys in the Clubs.... Plus they are lighter  :)
Standard 210 bhp iirc... The sky is the limit though ::)
Everything seems expensive though to buy for them be it brakes to cambelt kits, but maybe thats expensive in comparison to Vauxhall....
I have spent quiet alot out on mine but that is forgotten when i climb in  ;D

Enjoy it, I am sure you will. Different power delivery than the mental Sierra Cosworths I have been in though... scoob better handling.. Give some bikers a scare  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I wouldn't say the engines are bullet proof, especially once you start to up the boost, even standard they have to be looked after....

before buying check their reliability index and average for breakdowns.. I bet you wont be a happy ;)

now I checked again.. they removed the results ;D ;D

but from memory omega was about 70 (avg) where as it was worse twice than omega..  :-? :-X

ps: honestly comparing athmospheric and turbo cars with 4wd and lots of additional parts is not correct but this dont prevent your budget from being drained ;D
