Took the ML for a fresh MoT ready to sell it.
Failed on the parking brake efficiency with advisories for the cables, smoke and a CV boot.
Smoke was because it sat idling for over half an hour... No smoke when you boot it.
CV boot is a nonsense, basically it was missing the clamp to the hub when I bought it and whilst it is now resecured, it doesn't seat perfectly on the hub so there's a ring of grease around the lip. It's not an active leak as there's no trace on the wheel etc.
Handbrake cables are rough as and I suspect the only reason it failed on efficiency was because he didn't push the pedal far enough. I had already ordered new cables so that should be both items addressed in one hit.
Managed to snap the release cable for the towbar because the locking mechanism in the pivot it a bit tight from lack of use
Fortunately it locked in the towing position and snapped when I went to restow it.
Don't think the cable is a service item unless I can find an Oris dealer to ask
