Drove it about 250 miles home from the Derbyshire Dales.  :)

Dropped off the little shitbox, a Peugeot Corsa.  Given the speed limits are 50kph island wide, it did a lot of miles on a tank of fuel.

Booked it in with BMW next to the office. The tailgate/boot really does not want to be popped without a manual lift.

My old 435i GC needed a bit of Gummi Pflege on the boot rubbers, but was generally fine.

This i4 appears a bit less reliable. Should be covered under warranty since less than a year old.

First world problems.  ;D

Managed to reprogramme TT2. It not only runs again, but cruise control is fully functional which was the original purpose of the whole exercise that led to the software getting corrupted.

Going to save me about £300 a month in petrol 8)

Watched it drive into another car in the works car park :-[

If the car is fogged over, I often start it and get the demisters going before chucking my bags in the boot.

Did the same thing this evening. TT2 needs the clutch pressed to crank, so did that but stupidly didn't check if I had left it in gear. :-[

Car didn't stall and the hand brake didn't hold, so off it went, and as it pulled away the door closed, so zero chance of doing anything, especially as they lock automatically.

Fortunately it only hit one car. Head first into a Kia Niro. Pushed it back a couple of feet, but no airbag deployment and the only damage to TT2 is the grill and a piece of trim.

Kia bumper is done, along with the crash bar, although the radiator pack seems to have survived.

Obviously rang the insures and left a note, but there's a couple of lessons there :-[

And a few others.

It just missed a new RRS and a Model 3 and worse, if it had been a minute later it would have been nailed by the carpark bus :o

So all things considered, having a claim for the front of a Kia is the best result possible.

Got woken up this morning by the owner having just found my note. She seemed ok about it under the circumstances.

A bump like that runs a significant risk of writing off a Model 3, or any other EV.

As you say, a couple of lessons learned, and thankfully no one was hurt.

Re. the other car driver, with the state of humanity today she was probably mostly grateful you'd left a note, and a number that connected to the correct phone.

Sad but true and she even said as much. She's spoken to my insurers so hopefully they'll get her squared away in short order.

You're a callous sod at times ;D

Ignoring the what ifs, it was pretty much a Benny Hill sketch...
