Got it even dirtier than it was racing through the backroads to and from Twiglet's house to pick some wheels ::)

What's the paint code for your car LD? I've not seen an Omega in that shade of brown before... :P ;)

Finally got round to redrilling the new Capri discs to fit my Avenger. Now discovered that I need to turn about 6mm off the back of the hub  so that they don't bind on the strut. And my little lathe won't do that. So it will be the weekend before it's done.
Don't remember having to do this when we fitted similar brakes to a Sunbeam 20 odd years ago.

Nothing's ever easy is it?

Ahhh, proper cars...... :y :y :y

I spent 45 mins in the rain last night trying to release the oil filter housing on my estate.

Any guesses who was the last person to tighten it up???  ::)

Crapis were a psuedo sports car for posers.A Cortina in drag, with that long bonnet/ front end giving built in terminal understeer. Give me a well sorted Avenger over a crapi any day - and I have owned both and driven many examples of both. :y

Yeah, I think I'd go along with all of that. :y

Mate of mine used to have a nice Avenger Tiger with a pair of dell'ortos. :-*

Yeh, Avenger over a Crapi anytime.

That twin carb 1500 was quite a responsive unit

And with uprated front struts/ springs on the front and spax adjustables/ stiffer springs at the rear they could be made to handle quite nicely (within the limitations of the basic design) and were, in their day, a reasonably competitive rally car. :y
Martin Imber is going to love this..... ::) ;D
