Good. I need putting off them. :)

Rather LPG the 145k 3.2 than get an Insignia with 49k miles. I think. That is if I lost my 2.2 for any reason

Probably worth investing in a diesel/lpg Omega estate, given imminent events :y

Thinking of chopping Estate in. 3.2 is in far better nick really.

Problem is donut tank range.

Losing a couple of inches in boot height will make no odds to an Omega estate, besides, given the economy you see out of the 3.2, I very much doubt that range is a serious issue :-\ if you're buying fuel at 65-70ppl, it doesn't matter if you fill it every other day :y

Thing is the 3.2 is far from broke, decent tyres, recent wishbones, rear shocks and springs sub 5k old.

Might as well get some use out of them. As the car as a whole is worthless. :)

Not disputing that :y chop the desmond in for a tidy late estate, and gas it... could even pull the lpg from it and fit to a clean desmond estate with a donut tank...

That way you'll have a nice 3.2 for days out/blasting around and a cheap, capacious Mumsy bus for day to day family work :y

It be one or tother... but a desmond estate on lpg would be perfect, given your experience with both lpg and desmond :y

True, I do like working on the 2.2 engine  :)

Performance is not a requirement, it's a good shout actually, I'd not considered a 2.2 Estate.

Maybe in a year or two look out for a 2.2 Estate, or when a decent one pops up. Grab it  :)

Other thought in my mind is if my 2.2 gets too tired, replaced that with 2.2 Estate and LPG the 3.2 for work  8)

Trouble is my 2.2 just keeps on going and going, only needing belts, exhaust and other general service stuff.

As dependable as it is you'll struggle with boot space with a bloody great tank in it... not to mention smacking your head lifting in and out of the back seat. The estate rear doors are a better shape for that :y

True, already noticing space issue, glad to have 3.2 with runs to Ikea as seats can go down and loads can fit in.

For now, my fleet will stay as is, just thinking for couple of years down the line  :)

What about a Zafira 2.0DTi. Perfect. And you wouldn't even notice the performance problem ;D

(note - I need to drive a working one, as some are saying my expectations are too high, and maybe mine is OK, not that I believe that, as its shockingly slow)
