45 might have been a tad quick though :-X
I hit a big one yesterday at speed, quite high speed. Not sure of the actual speed, as I was nailing the brakes as hard as I could before it, and slammed it in to 1st to ensure the revs were up going through it. I know it didn't actually change into first until I was aquaplaning across the first bit of the puddle, before sinking down into it. Based on that, I'm guessing it was initially above the 1st gear threshold.

No parts lost (AFAIK) though, although once the car had dropped down in it, I was a walking pace to prevent a bow wave coming above the intake.
The Omega will carefully wade through about 10", especially with an undertray fitted as the alternator should stay dry... I have an idea for a snorkel, but fear it might be a touch ungainly/impractical :-\

I've had it happen with the standard ones in snow,  surprised I haven't done it sooner... previous puddles probably dislodged the lower clips and once the bottom is free it simply slides off :-\ you can hear them move around under braking...

Fitted a new battery to the 2.2 and gave her a light spruce up.

Yup..same as Dan 282,fitted a new battery to one of the 3.2's and took it out for a much needed blast down the motorway as it has'nt been used for a couple of weeks.Still get a buzz from a car that most people would'nt give house room to.....never mind it's their loss and my gain. :y
