You can get those Avon's from ASDA Tyres for £151.28 fitted Albs.  :y

https://www.asdatyres.co.uk/235-45-17

Or for another tenner you could have a pair of Uniroyal Rainsports.  :y

Ooh, we have another tyre thread.  8) ;D
So, are the Uniroyals better than Avons then ?  :-\

Ada price fitted looks pretty good by the way. Thanks Sir Tiger.  :y

I know this question wasn't aimed at me, but;

I have Uniroyal RS3's on the entire fleet.  310bhp and 470nm on a FWD car.  I struggle to break traction in 3rd, and despite their softer compound, they last for ages (9k front, 22k rear) and I drive very hard.

Haven't tried the later RS5's, so don't know if it's a step in the right or wrong direction.

Have had Rainsport 3's on the daily for the last three sets, very impressive tyre for the usual weather we see in this Country for most of the year, Daughter's Corsa and Wife's Astra have Rainexpert's on them which is a less sport orientated tyre but a great all-rounder.  :y

I dont drive it particularly hard and its been set up to WIM settings. Tyres have done 8k miles. They are Acellera ph1.
i THINK i will go for something different next time. They are pretty shit in the wet anyway, once they have a bit of wear on them.
I went with theses...

https://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s312p165072/Goodyear_Tyres_Car_Goodyear_Eagle_F1_Asymmetric_5_-_235_45_R17_94Y_FP_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_E_Wet_Grip%3A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_70dB

Obviously thems plus fitting... incidentally, Camskill have the Avons for significantly less...

No idea, but I have Uniroyal Rainsport 5's on the V70 and have been very pleased so far. They are wearing well and are quiet compared to cheap budget tyres.  :y

Oh and they have a sexy tread pattern too!   8) ;D

Bolted the towbar plate back down where it should be, and got an MOT pass. Tore the thumbnail off my right hand in the process, to match the pinky fingernail on the same hand I tore off last week.
Experiencing a bit of discomfort at the moment.  ::) ;D

there's plenty of videos of people swearing on youtube already  :D
and I agree "stings REALLY BAD" is quite an understatement ,but it IS good stuff

Or you could try some multi finish and some scrim ;D

Multi finish dries hard like an egg shell and wouldn't last long  ::)
insulation tape as a field dressing will get you by

I once slashed my wrist ,unintentionally I might add  ;D ,on a metal bracket doing an alarm panel change in a remote location I really didn't want to go back too, so taped up my wrist and finished the job and mopped all the blood up  ::)  before going to A&E ,still have the scar now ,30 years on  :P
