When I was almost home from work this morning Pierre suddenly started making some very strange noises.
Obviously carried on regardless, and was surprised it got me home.
Had a look a while ago and found its shredded its aux drive belt, which has wrapped itself tightly around the bottom pulley.
Also noticed it has an oil leak from somewhere and about half a litre down on the dipstick.
Just been to Eurocraprats for a belt, a litre of oil, and a can of brake cleaner to clean the oil off the engine.
Thats tomorrow morning sorted then.
I could get at least half what it cost me back in scrap value if it really does go bang, but of course then have to find another economical commuter car , which probably means selling the Boxster, which I dont want to do yet.
My son bought his first car, a 2001 Punto 6 years ago for £350. The head gasket has just gone and the local scrappy has offered him £375 for it.
