.....
Turns out I had 0.6l left in the tank
I never believe my cars when it tells me I have so much fuel or so many miles left. The Smart will tell me I have 4.0 litres left which should mean there's room for another 31 litres ..... in reality there's room for another 25/26
I used to take the Omega down to zero miles or not much more
I think with modern diesels they artificailly stop the car before you run out, so save bleeding problems. With both my petrol dialy Omegas, I knew that getting down to zero was nothing to stress over, and you had a good 5 + miles left. With the the Jaaaag, I assume the only way the car knows the fuel remaining is via the tank level sensor, so who knows if it starts its protection* shite as soon as it hits 1 or 0 miles range? Probably one for that nice Mr DTM to confirm?
* It goes into reduced power to warn the driver they have a kilometre to find somewhere safe to stop, then if the driver ignores, will stop the engine.
