Hello, sort of noob!
« on: 28 September 2007, 19:10:38 »

Well, after owning a beloved carlton and awesome senny 24v in dubious gold :D I bought a 96 Elite saloon which shortly after purchase blew its HG's! So I started a much more complex rebuild than I really needed and ended up having my ready to rock heads nicked. Have in the mean time been weighing up lpg vs deisel and thinking I really need a wagon, so am on here to share the wealth, learn alot and generally find bits to get me motoring again!

Hi welcome to the forum. Good luck with the LPG Much cleaner than diesel, will probably work out cheaper too. Buy a new Kit though with full fitting and setup guide.

Hi welcome to the forum. Good luck with the LPG Much cleaner than diesel, will probably work out cheaper too. Buy a new Kit though with full fitting and setup guide.

Well Ive been driving a TD 406 for a while which has served me well and I am getting used to the grunty not having to stop at every fuel station mileage! But obviously want my V6 powerssss back. I still have the bottom end and all to rebuild it (inc saab pistons and rods, heard the rods where better?!) Luckily the heads where standard, but had still cost a fortune, I think I lost the cams too (oh and 3 brand new astra sri 17's that I got for her)  ::) :(

Anyhow, I am not entirely sure what was stolen in the end as I dont know the car well enough to see what was missing (ie brackets etc) And tbh felt I was taking on a bit too much as its my full first re-build! Anyway, I now have an almost ready to go bottom end and a pretty mint 1996 elite shell (which I wish was a wagon!), just a few vitals missing!

No doubt I will post my tales of woe in other sections as and when I discover I need bits! lol  :D :y
