OIL LEAK
« on: 02 August 2009, 19:03:06 »

Hi folks
My first post i hope someone can help me.
Just this fri i colected my omega from my local garage,i had the left hand rocker cover and seals done, and the plugs and leads as it was missing.
Now the guy that worked on it i know personaly and he has a omega, so the trust is there.
Now i did have the smell of oil burning which was laying in the plug wells, but on picking it up and took it for a spin, i parked up at home the smell was to me even worse than before.
So sat i took it back so the guy he put it up on ramp and found a bad leak on the rear of the r/hand bank, just below the roker cover gasget, IM SORRY TO BE SO DRAWN OUT ABOUT THIS BUT I RECKON IF I SPELL IT OUT THIS WAY IT WILL MAKE SOME SENSE.
With a mirror on a extention  and a good light we could see oil flowing from this point, the manifold heat shield was partly in the way the oil was dripping off one of the 2 9mm pipes that run in line with gasget, the oil was not coming from the rocker gasget we could see that much.
Does oil pass through these pipes??, the engine was running whilst up on ramp.
I have had car from 1 year old been great, hope some one can help.
