Thought I would let people know, having had the car a few days, given it a little check over got a few questions!  Please tell me if these are in the wrong place and I will start or add to a thread else where to get a better response!

When the car is started from cold there is a ticking noise, soon goes away once it is warmed up.  The previous owner said it might be the exhaust manifold, does that sound correct?  Could it just need a new gasket, or do they have a tendency to warp?

The auto box sometimes holds first gear when cold.  Seems okay otherwise and very smooth.  I assume the first step would be an oil change, what is the easiest way of doing this?  Read one of the tech threads and it said to remove the pan, but that only gets rid of 5.5l of the 8litres is there not a dedicated drain plug?  Also, guessing it would be a good idea to get the gearbox ECU update done any way of knowing if it has already been done?

All lights come on the dash and go out as they should, except the TC one, does not light up at all, is that correct, any ideas?

The rear cig port does not appear to be working, any known fixes or is it a take it apart and see job?

Finally, had a look at the tyres nearside front and rear heavily worn on inner edge.  The negative camber on the rear look excessive.  Reading one of the technical threads, I contacted Wheels In Motion in Chesham, but their nearest affiliated depot was either Manchester or Chesterfield (I am based in Leeds).

Anyway, just thought I would let you know contacted my local garage who I have used many times before, the car is booked in tomorrow to them for a full lazer geometry set up by a mobile guy that they use.  They are well aware of the troubles with setting up Omegas correctly, and the guy who is doing it does the set ups for Vauxhall & Mercedes dealers.  Charging £80 and being more local than WIM, worth a shot I thought, comments?

Finally finally, bought two new tyres today, going to Great Yarmouth at the weekend, and don't want an issue! They are budget ones called Sunfull.  Got them fitted for £90 for the pair.  Anyone any experience?  Do not expect something for nothing, but do not want to spend a lot when the suspension set up might still not be correct!

Sorry for the long message, thanks in advance for your help.

Hi again,

Just been on a long run in the car, and noticed the temp gauge is reading only about 80C, so thinking the thermostat has gone.

Been looking for the part on the web and came across Vauxhall World Parts.  They are offering a discount for forum members but require an authorisation code.  Does anyone know where I can find it?

I assume the parts from here are okay?  They seem to be selling the Febi Bilstein thermostat and I believe that is known to be good?

Any help would be gratefully received!

Cheers
