In the first instance I would have a word with him.   If you call the office he will get a rollocking and that's probably not in your best interest.

i believe so, but just not 100% certain

Except if you post it in the box outside the sorting office. I did that on a Sunday, got there Monday :y

it has to be the main area sorting office apparently, not just any sorting office

what can i do about my postman, he seems to be putting sensitive mai through next door but still posting shite through mine. SWMBO's credit card came other day. well when neighbour brought it round for her. but we still got junk that was adressed for us. can i do anything or do i just have to put up with it?

it happens, and it shouldn't happen, as i've said, i'm new-ish, i got to know my route like the back of my hand and last week they moved me, and being human, we all make mistakes

the way for your postman to avoid mistakes is to check what house he's at and read the address properly, and believe me, only the slightest lapse of concentration is enough to cause a mistake, is your house number clearly visible? silly question you might ask, but i've had rows of 7 or 8 houses with not one door number, and it doesn't help when they dont bother putting their own wheelie bins on their own properties (yes, that happens!!). yesterday i dropped 12's mail through number 13, they are next door to each other as its a cul-de-sac, i'd never been down that street before and 13 didnt have a bloody number on and 12's door was round the far side so not easy to spot on a first time, but i know when i've made a mistake and i care aswell, and without fail i put a card through both doors, one to say i've dropped the mail through the wrong door, and the other to say the neighbour knows they have their mail, but only if nobody has answered when i've knocked to personally face my embarrassment. For a regular postman this shouldn't happen, but mistakes can be made and the best way to deal with it is to confront your postman and basically make him aware of it, because if he cares about his job like i do (cos at the end of the day i need to keep a roof over my head too) then a word from the resident will have a far greater impact on him than a rollocking from his superior

i made a few mistakes, always knocked on and apologised, and expressed how embarrassed i was, and not once have i had a complaint

if it happens regularly, a complaint might be the best way, regular mistakes are more likely carelessness

Post delivery is very bad in our area, both at home and at the office, lots of letters to other addresses landing at our door step and vice versa, if it is for a nearby house I usually deliver it by hand, if too far away I just chuck it into the post box, but I am not sure that everyone else does the same with my post when it is misdelivered to another address...

We get different guys all the time, and some of them are not even post-office employees but working for contractors (I asked them..), so not much point in complaining really....

Question: how do you complain to the post office if they lost your letter/package?

1. Fill in a missing post form and send to them by post
2. Phone them up
3. Send an email
4. Log it on their website
5. Nahhh, Royal Mail do not believe in modern communication methods, and definitely they don't trust the post... you have to come in and hand in the form personally at the post office.

You guessed it...  :(
