HBV (Heater Bypass Valve) is the likely culprit. £26 from dealer.

Whats not working with ECC?

it's not blowing cold......

when i went to look at the car before i bought it the AC didnt blow cold....i told the gararge that i whould buy it if they got it working. The day before i picked it up they got the system re-gassed, when i picked it up the next day it still didnt work...! i was told that when they picked it up for the AC place it worked fine blowing very cold...so.....i took the car back for them to sort it and now i'm being told that the vaporizer it knackerd and needs replacing....(at there cost) it went in today to get done....but....got a call this afternoon to be told that the part is on speical order and wont be in for three weeks........:(....i've got the car back so i'm just waiting now......
i've been told that this unit is behined the dash....and the whole dash needs to come out so they can get to it...

i was thinking of just giving the car back and getting my money back...but it's such a lovery car and in very good condition considering it's on 107k

Heater not blowing properly and leak near back of engine? HBV for 1000000000000% certain. I think. Perhaps.

Yep, common problem, quite simple to do if a bit awkward. Can leak onto the Dis pack, so is advisible to change asap if faulty.

HBV replacement - take off wipers and scuttle to get better access. Behind drivers side bank of cylinders you should see the beast, 3 coolant hoses and a small vacuum pipe goes to it. Fiddly due to lack of space, but easy job.
