The info exists in TIS up to around 98 MY, although its unclear if the newer style MID and older style MID codes are interchangeable if someone has wrong type in their car...

Hi everyone.

Thought I'd add my tuppence-worth!

Year 2000 (facelift) Vreg 2.5TD saloon
Automatic
Trye size: 225/55/R16

Code number:

043       3
            24060

But what do they mean!

I'd like to be able to find out which gearbox is fitted, the R25 or R35 model (I think that's the numbers of them?)

Does anyone out there know??
 :)

Yes it's 2, just checked - could this be responsible for the 24.6m/g being reported.

Yes, so the MID could be right with the mpg.... still I only do 6,000 a year and in complete comfort.   :)

If its an older MID, then its for 2.0l Auto

If its a newer MID, then 2.0 Diesel....

Yep the range does seem to be optimistic, only wish it were true ;)

the average mpg is exceedingly good as well, all part of the same thing I assume.

So next question, anybody in the northwest tech2 enabled?? :-? or am going to have to go to the stealer?? :(

Ring dealer, ask how much...

Visit dealer, walk in workshop bit, and see if you can bribe a mechanic, saying you need your MID configured with Code Index x (I can supply the index number) - need year, mid type (radio display above FC or below), transmission, possibly tyres size, HID etc

Or if dealer really expensive, find out how much postage is, as I can program (while I've still got Proj TB1) for a few quid - I suspect the postage each way plus my cost (alas, I have to charge to recoup some of Tech2 costs :() may make it a bit expensive :(
