They had to put it back to the code it had before they said it wouldn't accept any other code? Don't think they know what they're doing.
so its back to 022   01
           24846
Which they said was for a 99 2l diesel with 225 55 R16 tyres.

MID part no 90 379 234

LOL, the idiots are looking at newer MIDs - iirc, yours is older one. Hence they need to look at the 96/97 table, not 98 onwards....

They do not inspire cofidence, their approach seems to be if in doubt put a new one in . The wifes car has been in twice this week and still ain't fixed, waiting for  another part!

The thing is if it were a new MID they would still have to program it, so I assume they would still have the same problem and I would be down best part of 400 notes. good job I got a second hand one!

I'll look into it, but won't you need a car to program it?

I'd need to confirm which type you have to ensure it will fit on one of my Omegas to program...

Replied to PM, but may be worth contacting Marks_DTM first, as he has said its possible to swap the config chips over from your old to new one (doubt its socketed, so will probably need soldering, not sure if SMD either)

Think it would require soldering. I've got the old one in bits so I will check it out.

MID received (neighbour took in yesterday when I was at Bo Bo's cambelt do)

Reprogrammed to 3.0l Auto...

Did a pixel test, looks like a good MID...

And it now shows a proper range (was showing 411 miles before programming)...

Apologies for focus issue with piccies - it was getting dark...
