8-)hi i own a 2000 omega mv6 pre facelift (was a ford granada man,now i've seen the light) i have blubs blown in dash & center switches can any body help me vauxhall quoted me £250 just for labour  :'((ipswich) any body know were i can get it done a lot cheaper

Its easy to do yourself ;)

To remove dash, prise out 2 centre vents.
Remove 2 screws behind, and withdraw the vent surround.
Undo screw that holds that end of dash in.
Remove top cowling on steering column.
Undo screw that holds in bottom on dash.
Withdrawn instrument panel, unplugging MID/TID/GID as soon as you can get hand behind.

As for centre console bulbs, does it have climate control?

To remove the cowling, you need to turn the steering wheel 90° to the left, remove the screw that then becomes accessible, then turn 180° to the right and remove the second one. Unless you're into weightlifting this is probably best done with the engine running so you have working power steering!!

To do centre console...


Remove radio
Remove radio cage
Remove ashtray insert
Remove ashtray by undoing screw that can be accessed through cutout in back of ashtray
Remove 2 screws that you can now see at bottom of centre console
Remove Switches by prising out, start with hazard and work outwards (protect switches from scratching)
If 2 small screws behind hazard switch, remove
Reach up through radio appeture - they is a small metal bar, pull down to relase console ***
Unplug wiring as pulling console out
Unscrew climate unit from centre console if necessary (not needed for bulbs)


*** this metal bar is difficult to describe, but sits up behind centre console and is spring loaded...

Its also not essential to remove the switches......

I've always find it tight and fiddly with switch looms in place (but still possible), and to remove looms, switch removal is required, and easier imho than trying to change the bulbs when hampered by tight loom...

Same here, mate...  ;D

F-Reg Scorpio 2.9 with megagalactic miles.... And the great car it was!

It was my company car until the rear brake disk rusted away and separated from the hub (the company owner did not believe in maintenance as such), so In the interest os staying alive I gave up the company car and bought my first Omega - I am on my second now...

PS - I also left the company and started my own business....  ;D
