3 beeps when I get out the car sometimes
« on: 16 October 2006, 19:15:37 »

Hi All,

Here is something I have noticed when I sometimes get of my car. I know that if you leave the lights on or the keys in the ignition you get an audio warning of this. What I am describing is once every couple of days when I take the keys out of the ignition and open the driver's door there are 3 or possibly 4 bleeps made by the car.

Does anyone know what they signify?

Thanks, Red.

All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

Hi,

This is the only one I found http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1159642895/20#20

A few questions:

1. Where can you get these batteries?

2. Does anyone have anymore information on how to do this job apart from from what I found in the link?

3. Lastly and most importantly, if the car bleeps in the way I have described is there any chance that the alarm system could interfere with the car by immobilising it etc?

Cheers, Red.

1. You can find info on the batteries here, the part numbers required have been in previous posts, this dude will also make them up for you if required.

2. It is a pretty straightforward job, some patience and soldering required though.  ;)

3. Absolutely not. Your alarm system will still work as it should, the only difference is that the power sounder will not sound for as long as it should if your battery is disconnected.  Mine was doing it for years. :y
