I presume an air con car will have one?

The cdx i have, the heater knobs dont go all round all settings  
So i presume ( ok from my Rover experience) it may be the resistor thats broken.....

Anyone know where it is, i am reckoning passenger footwell, under glovebox area but cant see anything obvious... :-/

If it's the resistor that controls the blower you're in the right area.

thought so Bo Bo hate working in that area, always have visions of the heater matrix going splosh all over me `ead   i presume i am loking for alittle bit of wire unbroken, mounted on a bit of plastic ( omegas being no different to other cars i hope!!)

I ended up having to replace my resistor, if you look up it's clipped into the blower casing. About 4" long metal fins with a black plastic cap (the bit you can see). You might have to move some wiring/hoses to get it out.

Climate uses an electronic controller not a resistor, manual a/c and non-a/c use the same resistor pack.

Resistor failure is usually due to fan bearings tightening up, fan motor takes excess current as a result and the resistor cant handle it because its not being cooled properly (cos the fan speed is lower than it should be).
You can check the fan for 'freeness' once the resistor is out, if any doubt then remove the whole lot and lube the bearings.

Also check the scuttle drain, faults in the heater blower all seem to stem from a blocked drain at some time.

thanks guys - problem resolved - sorry i should have said its manual a/c and the resistor - as suspected has blown ( or whatever the proper term is l )

going to have a look at the system today matchless - ( skuttle already removed and drain hole nice n clear)
