Air condition
« on: 14 November 2006, 16:11:46 »

Hi,
My car has the old rotary air condition knobs but I aquired in eBay a 1998 climate control display with digital numbers. Does anyone know if this can be retrofitted and installed in a 1995 Omega with rotary knobs?

Nope. Well not easily anyway. Be a massive undertaking....

I cant say I know of or have heard of anyone trying to retrofit it as there is alot involved as I believe there are about 5 sensors or more that make up the setup and also I would think ecu would need reprogramming to be done so the car would know it has climate control.

I was tempted to do the same thing until I was told alot was involved, many even recommended selling up and buying one with it in.

Good luck if you go for it  :y

Has anyone actually tried? I had my blower out a few years ago and there was a plug taped up where one of the servos go so I thought the wiring loom was there.

Nothing is impossible, its just a case of deciding if its worth all the effort when you could look out for a car with climate when you next change.
You would need all the servos and the temp sensors for the ducts and the sunlight sensor from the dash top so if you had ready access to a car being broken you should be able to get all the bits. (it might be easier to swap a complete dash)I dont know for sure if the heater case is the same but with different actuators fitted (servo instead of vacuum)
You will need the fan speed controller from a climate car and its wiring loom
