Just changed the bulb in the brake light, even though nothing appeared to be wrong with the one in there, so I can only assume there must be a bad or loose connection somewhere, had the same probelm earlier this yr, got Vx to sort it when I had other stuff done. Looks like it back again though.

That'll have been your problem!  
Just make sure that all contacts are clean, maybe a squirt of silicon or WD40 after they've been cleaned, and slightly bend the live connections of the holders so they are a little harder on the lamp (you plant bulbs in the garden  :-?) Don't buy crappy lamps either. My wife's Astra went through a phase of eating tail/brake lamps.

Many people on here have said that Omega's (& maybe other Vx's) are a bit finicky about brake bulbs/lamps!!! & to use genuine Vx ones.

Nothing wrong with the contacts, they are all clean, I cleaned them anyway, bend them up, but again the contacts where fine, could'nt find ma WD40 so did'nt give it a squirt, still got the problem, still coming up brake light?, unless its the hellfrauds bulb?

i get it from time to time with mine....well it is daily now!!!!!

One min it is on, next the check display is telling me is the bulb has gone, and then is will be working again.
Always the same side, even if i change the bulbs over.
Holder is nice and tight, no corrosion and Vx bulbs, really buggin me now

I used to get this problem from time to time on 99 2.0 CDX, used to bug the hell out of me, local independant garage where I get my servicing done had a look and said it had a bad earth. Put a new earth wire in and touch wood it hasn;t happened since.

Just need to get me heater controls fixed now and I'm ready for the winter

Have you had a blocked scuttle drain recently? The bulb monitoring box is in the passenger footwell (at least on some models) so can get wet if the drain is allowed to block.

Had this problem on my previous meega... kept changing bulbs but this was only short term solution. The meegas seem to like some brands more than othera - in my case it gave least greif with Ring bulbs - which are cheap petrol-station bulbs - so the branded ones are not always best! Didn't try Vx own though. Keep changing bulbs until the light goes away...

Had no such problems with my current meega though.

I don't mind admitting it, I can be a bit of an idiot at times, have been checking the lights on the boot lid, forgot  the brake lights are on the rear side panels, will check tomorrow now

Doh!   You can see the lamps directly if you leave the holders dangling in the boot and drop the rear seat backs.
