i thought i saw TB posting thats normal behaviour?

Not had a chance to test mine yet, took dads fancy auto version out today  :D

If i remember correctly, the revs stay at 1,100 to make sure you have enough power for PAS and brakes?

It didn't do it on my last one and doesn't do it on the wife's Meriva that I took out today - no difference if wheels turning or not & much faster to settle back down to 600 rpm.  It could be conneted to the brakes as they are different on an Omega, but it now pushes me into traffic when I want to pull up to a stop and revs its arse off round town.  Try cruising up to a zebra crossing with a little old lady about to cross and keep your foot planted to 1200 rpm - or dead stop 10 feet short to calm the engine - those are my choices at present and it's driving me crazy  ::)

i must remember to try this tomorrow, will prob take dog for walkies just out of town.

Although the car barley gets a chance to get warm.

Did the car always do this or has it suddenly started doing it?

I see the exhaust emissions light is on.....what are the ecu codes?

You might have an air leak......my 2.2 did the same for a day or so after i changed the very clogged air filter......then it settled back down.....i suspect the ecu was just learning it had a lot more air coming in than it was use to.

Tunnie - No the Emissions light came on 1 week after the cam belt was changed and filters replaced with routine service.  The throttle problem started after I cleaned the breathers and got the cruise enabled - so its probably my own fault for messing  :-[

TD - Emissions light currently reads MAF sensor fault (originally Lambda sensor but now clear). When I swapped the MAF for a working one, the light stayed on - (although I only ran it for a couple of minutes)
Air leak - yes probably, but I can't find it and all the hoses are in good order, new gasket on throttle body and new semi clear pipe too.

AA - Yes engine hot - throttle response is slower when cold.

TB - I don't know which software version of ECU - how would I tell?

Butterfly was sticking - till I added some more 3in1 and then was ok.  I've got another paper gasket so I'll pop it off, clean it again and see if it makes any difference.  Emissions light was on long before I did the breathers so probably an air leak too - but where? :-?

Have you checked the big air pipe from the airbox to the throttle body? esp underneath on the flexi part? When i changed my air filter last week.....if you dont bother to remove the pipe before lifting the lid off the airbox the flexi joint bends at quite an angle and I could see that splitting quite easily.

If it were the MAF sensor....then i dont think the Emissions light will go out straight away after swapping the sensor.....i think it needs so many clean starts to clear it or a code reader to reset it.

BTW i tried testing mine......knocked it into neutral doing 20mph revs dropped down to 700rpm no probs.

I believe MIL would go out straight away as soon as ECU happy, though code would still be stored in ECU...

just had mine on the run to TB's the revs fall straight down, so if in 3rd at 25mph & into neutral revs quickly fall to around 600/700 rpm, this is with the engine cold too!!

Also if in 3rd just under 20mph the revs hover just below 1k... (i never like to rev it when the engine is cold)

Reason I suggested that was coz i get my emissions light on fairly often and i can tell when it will come on.....normally fillup with countrywide lpg (have account with them) but sometimes if im no where near a site i usually fill up with BP lpg (and 10p more a litre  >:( ) Running on countrywide lpg i dont get the emissions light on......fill it up with bp lpg and within a few miles emissions light is on....but when refilling with countrywide lpg the light doesnt go off for a few days and sometimes several tanks of countrywide lpg.......so thought there was a delay on the light going off....maybe theres another reason  :-/

My emissions light is on at the moment (filled up with bp the other day, but its had a few tanks of countrywide since).....so tomorrow if its still on i'll reset it and see if it stays off and report back  :y
