plans for the next year...
« on: 31 December 2006, 13:38:29 »

over the last year i have done about 25,000 in my omega, and a lot of fun they have been as well, however i have noticed that the tyres are wearing rapidly again and the last geomerty check i did revealed that the rear adjusters were siezed.

so the plan for the year is to replace the steering idler (was an advisory from last year) wishbones, drop arms (not knocking, but whilst i am there) rear track adjusters (complete and both sides) Exhaust as that is getting to be a bit noisey now and discs and pads.....

i am a fussy beggar and really only like vaux parts, having worked for them for 10 years i can see value in OE kit, but is there anyone out there who can do OE stuff at a better price than the dealers?

Aside from having to have the suspension geometry redon is there anything else that would be required?

looking through the how to guides i noticed a lot of them dont have piccys, i may have a go at doing the jobs and taking some pics to help those who are more visual...ooeerr

might have to do another cambelt kit next year as well as it will be getting close to 40K since last change, that is one job i might leave to the dealers ;)

i might just do that TB, prob is time, the car is constantly in use between Plymouth and Nottingham so the only time to do it is on the weekends.

If i book it in with the dealers and have then do the water pump at the same time then 99% of the time it will be ready for the end of Saturday, if i break something then i have to find a replacement car quick to get me back to Nottingham.

I've found autovaux to be good (though I know Theolodian had lots of problems with them), though don't assume they are always cheap - ring your local dealer as well, as sometimes autovaux can be much more expensive.

Nah, how about you hosting a wheel bearing changing party, and possible a wishbone bush changing party - before mid Feb, assuming wheel bearing is MOT failure ;)
