Sorry if I am hijacking the thread, but could I ask for any Firewire/USB recomendations for Video Digitising. I recently was given a couple of videos and asked if I could make a DVD. I firstly tried my Nebula card, but couldn't get the sound over. I then tried a JVC camcorder with video input, but there was no control over the signal levels, saturation etc, and the picture quality was not very good. I ended up using a FlyDVB-T Duo PCMCIA card plugged into a P4 2.8 laptop, but this was software compression so was a bit rough, with the laptop processor at 100% for most of the time. It worked after a few goes, but I would like a hardware compression unit. P.S. I tried the Trial version of the TMPGenc DVD software. Its very good, but that laptop is now infested with adverts for all sorts of useful things that I can't get rid of !!!.
