Update - Exhaust on DTi .... what should i do? &nb
« on: 06 February 2007, 11:55:50 »

Thanks to all members for the welcomes, advice and help so far in getting info about fixing my exhaust.
Key points learnt from the earlier thread -
1.  GM parts will last much longer than exhaust shed spares - which are thin
2.   Autobahnstormers membership will give a good Trade discount [their site is worth a visit]
3.  Best option is to join ABS and get Trade discount and get parts fitted by local friendly mechanic.

Trouble is i dont have time for ABS membership to come through - i need to be driving by Saturday....

So - local exhaust sheds wont/cant fit GM parts - their alternatives even so come in about £300
Local main dealer [had bad service experience from them many times] - cost to fix back and front box - £316.

So advice please -
Is this expensive or fair enough? I think I need to grit my teeth and go to the main dealer - is there any alternative?

does anyone around you have a Vauxhall Trade Club card?

What you have listed is the best way, GM parts fitted by yourself or local bod for a few quid.

You could always try the blag at a dealer oh i forgot my TC card...  ;)

Stainless sytems are usually about the £300 - £350 mark with a lifetime warranty for cat back. If you go that route be sure and specify 2 1/2" pipe as smaller causes problems with performance due to the restriction.

Looks like you have a Power Flow dealer where you are DISTRICT GARAGE LTD 01204 854678.
