Cheapo Tech2... Worth Having?

After seeing them mentioned a bit on the forum, have seen these cheap tech2 adaptors on ebay....  What do you recon guys, are they worth having????

For yours (ie no paperclip test), yes.  It ain't perfect by any means, and you MUST have a computer with a GENUINE COM1 (not USB to serial adapters).

Aye, my one worked with MJ's cheapo tech2. But judging by others experience, safest to say need a proper COM1

I have a spare Dell Latitude C600 kicking around, might invest in one of those for the 2.2's....
