Lambda Sensor Joys
« on: 04 March 2007, 19:32:52 »

Decided to bite the bullet and buy a new Lambda Sensor and fitted it Today.

Engine management light when stright off and is not ON anymore YEAH

The MPG has shot right back up from the high 20's to 45 odd, I am so pleased.

Hummm how can i put it ... ermm yeh your 4 pot is shagged  ;) ;D

Seriously though something is a miss there, I can blast back from Birmingham Airport, with 3 people in the 2.2 with a full boot cruising at 85/90mph all the way back and it will easy get 35+ to the gallon. I reset the mpg when i left home to pick dad up, 75/80 there 85/90 back, averaged 36. something.......

Mind you yours does have a slush box  ;)

true, and its a manual which helps.

Over the whole tank it tends to average 31/32, I do some town runs, like here the run to Tesco.

But majority of you miles are motorway cruising.  On my France trips, I average 32/33, including all the short trips whilst down there....

my 45MPG was a 70 mile an hour 40 mile run,

I guess ill be doing the low 30's on average now which is better than the mid 20s which i was getting with my knacked lambda sensor.

cant remember what VX say the car should be in the manual for a 2.0L
