If it is the EM gasket.......
« on: 13 March 2007, 10:42:51 »

Had a look at the 'blue book of ?' and it would seem that really there is not much more stripping down to be down for the EM gasket, as for the cam cover gaskets, although it does seem a bit more fiddly.
Bit worried about a stud shearing off and wanted to ask if there were any preventative measures that could be taken to try and prevent this?
Also is it necessary to change every seal and gasket on the way? I don't mind but I can just picture the parts dept guy's face when I hit him with the list of parts!! ;D

I've not done the job myself but in general I'd say give the bolts and studs a good squirt of Plus Gas on a couple of occasions during the 24 hours leading up to when you try to remove them.
