Sunroof Motors
« on: 18 April 2007, 08:30:31 »

I need to find a decent Motor + Sunroof panel for my dads Omega.

I have noticed his being a 94M with the red dome the twist dial has the pin fixed to the dial, so you pull the dial from the roof with the pin

Mine being a 97P has the panel without the red dome and the twist dial pulls off the pin coming out of roof leaving the centre pin still attached to the sunroof motor.

Can anyone tell me if the earlier and later sunroof motor have the same connector as I am thinking to source a sunroof motor from a later omega, as the last time I had the sunroof panel off on my dads I managed to pull half the sunroof motor from the roof and me being me couldn't understand why the pin would not come out of the twist dial and so it got butchered.

Hope this makes sense.

Any help on this would be much appreciated as my dads omega has half the sunroof twist dial missing at the moment. Sunroof still opens and closes fine.

Just trying to suss whether the sunroof motor connectors changed at all cos if they are the same on the early aswell as the late models then I would go for one of the late models sunroof motors which has the pin sticking out of it with the push on dial.

Snappa if you have the motor too could you post up a piccy.

Hope that makes sense

Cheers Snappa

I shall check tonight whether it will fit should think so same design, just wondering whether the cable connections will be the same.

Guess I could try my dads in mine :-/

last time I removed the sunroof panel in my dads omega I managed to pull the black cover part on motor along with the circuit board. All seemed to come a one piece.

What year was the car it came from?

No worries. :y

Unfortunately I still need to double check it will go in my dads car plan is to remove the one in my dads car and connect it in mine to check the cables/conector is the same and that it will work on my car if it does then I know the newer motor should work.

I've got an idea that the only difference is that the IR red dome is on it's own plug,
but then again.....

So you reckon the early and later motors are the same and the connections are the same then, just want to swap for the newer one where you pull the dial off from the pin and not pull the dial and pin out of motor if that makes sense.
