Auto  dimming rear mirror.
« on: 05 May 2007, 10:13:42 »

Hi guys,

Quick question  :) - Does anyone know if i could fit a pre-facelift automatic dimming rear mirror onto my facelift car?

The reason i ask is that there are loads of pre-facelift ones available on feabay and they look like slightly different.

Cheers in advance!

The windscreen mount on the facelift is different. Don`t know whether it`s possible to swap facelift mounting bracket onto the mini-facelift mirror. Hopefully some more knowledgable members will be able to help. :y

I don't think the mount is any different... ...as I proved to the rumour starter Tunnie ;D

The loom won't be there, but 3 of the 4 wires can be acquired from the courtesy lights on prefacelift (and presumably facelifts), 4th (for undim when in reverse) needs to come from kick panel...

Don't buy this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&viewitem=&item=200105168442&rd=1&rd=1

Cos I'm already bidding on it  >:(

But I never thought about the pre/post facelift so if I win I'll let you know  :-[

Nah - already got it.  I used auction stealer to get it at £12!  Is this a good price?  P+P was 4.50.

I'll let you know how the install goes...

Cheers
