Do yourself a favour Andy and put some rags in the inlet ports.  You will hate yourself so bad if you drop a bolt down there :o

do you need to change the thermostat whist doing oil cooler???

oh and make sure if you do replace it you get the new rubber seal and 2 new bolts - the lip on the new vx thermostat to replace the old one is different - meaning that although the bolts will fit and torque up they will be " swimming"....

If you have issues sourcing the new bolts ( as they dont come with the stat) i am sure i can find the part number when i get home for the compatible bolts  :y that is unless M DTM knows them off the top of his head  ;)
