Hi guys!
I have a 2.2, petrol, GLS, auto saloon, Feb 2002.
It has developed a water leak and I know where it is from, I just don't know what the part is called!
It is between the bulkhead and the back of the engine, at the top on the drivers side. It is black plastic and has a circular top with what looks like a thin plastic vacuum type pipe coming out of the centre of the top. Underneath this is a thick part hanging down with 2 water hoses attached to one side and 1 water hose attached to the other. 1 of the water hoses comes out of the bulkhead amd immediately curls down and under and attaches to this part. Another of the water hoses is "T"'d of another main water hose and also attaches to this part. I am not sure where the 3rd water hose goes to.
Anyone got any ideas what it is called and what it does, (apart from leak!).
I have had a good look and the hoses look OK, it seems to be leaking from underneath the top, but it is dry either side of the leak point so I don't think it is one of the hoses. It seems to be much worse when the engine is up to running temperature, but whether this is due to temperature or pressure I am not sure.
Any suggestions.
