Hydraulic Lifters
« on: 22 June 2007, 15:57:17 »

Hi,

I have a Lifter problem, my car a 2.0 Omega 1994 'L' reg, 16v, ecotech. Has noisey tappets, I bought some Wynns Lifter Cleaner stuck that in, waited for 600 miles, then did and oil and filter change, they are alot quieter than they used to be, but either one or two seem to be noisey still.

Are these cleanable???
How easy is it to do???
Are they expensive to replace, if the worse comes to the worse.??

Any pics would be nice, never even taken the cover off before, what else would i need while i'm at it???

Thanks in advance for any information...

Have a look Here: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1163080380

A pretty long winded procedure (not as bad on a 4 pot as on a v6!) but it might help.

You want to get the oil pressure checked first.
