I would be interested in knowing that too.....

I had the same problem with 'oil lack' - dejunked with some flush not had it since.  Sometimes the sensor can get covered in crud esp if oil changes not done regularily.

Check you coolant sensor in the header tank.  If it moves freely up and down I would suspect a rogue wire or two...

unless you take corners at 6G ........   :o

I don't know the answer, but is there a clue in the fact that he is getting both these messages in error.   Either big coincidence , or some common factor..

Did both messages start appearing at the same time, and was the fluid in need of toping up?

On mine 'Oil Level' comes on at about midway down the dipstick (.5 L of max).  Presumably Oil Lack is even lower.

Either both sensors (oil level sensor and coolant sensor) have simultaneously failed, or the plug has dropped out back of MID (assuming 2 plug variant). Or you've fitted a MID into a car with a TID, and hence no sensors...

It goes inside the bottom of the sump... so you need a sump with a sensor. Sump-off is engine-out job on V6 though you may be able to get away with undoing one engine mount and tilting the engine up - either way so not a simple task as such.
